This year I'm taking part in the Sligo event at ATU Sligo, Ash Lane, Ballytivnan, Co. Sligo. An amazing community event that will take place over 24 hours.

I’m fundraising for a great cause

Funds raised from this event will support vital support services for people living with cancer. These much needed funds will help the Irish Cancer Society continue to provide Night Nurses, Volunteer Drivers, a freephone Support line, counselling sessions, fund life changing research & much more.

SWIBN Joins Relay for Life Sligo – A Celebration of Life and Our Network, Our Community

Tuesday 8th Jul

Following the amazing response at our June SWIBN meeting, I’m proud to share that SWIBN is forming a team for Relay for Life Sligo this September.

This 24-hour event is more than a fundraiser – it’s a meaningful celebration of life. It’s about honouring those who have survived cancer, remembering those we’ve lost, and showing our support for the Irish Cancer Society and the vital work they do.

For me personally, I’m walking, skipping, running and maybe some dancing to celebrate the life of a wonderful colleague I had the pleasure of working with over ten years ago, who sadly passed away from stomach cancer in June 2025. I’m also walking in memory of beloved family members and dear friends we’ve lost over the years.

Relay for Life is a powerful reminder of how much strength we can draw from one another – through networking connections, compassion, and community.
