This year I'm taking part in the Sligo event at ATU Sligo, Ash Lane, Ballytivnan, Co. Sligo. An amazing community event that will take place over 24 hours.

I’m fundraising for a great cause

Funds raised from this event will support vital support services for people living with cancer. These much needed funds will help the Irish Cancer Society continue to provide Night Nurses, Volunteer Drivers, a freephone Support line, counselling sessions, fund life changing research & much more.

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for the support and donations so far. As alot of you may know, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in October 2012, I also had a recent scare of recurrence in January of this year. My father passed away of Cancer in 1998, two weeks before my son was born. My family on both sides has had a few cancer deaths and I currently have a first cousin with a few cancer diagnoses but recovering very well. Almost every family is affected by cancer in some way whether that be directly or indirectly, the Irish Cancer Society do trojan work for both cancer patients and their families. A 24 hr event is nothing compared to what some people endure on a daily basis, every donation counts. I want to thank every member of my team that has come onboard to happily give up their time to walk/run for an hour or two and more all for this worthy charity. Thank you all. Marcella🧡
