My Relay for Life event

I’m raising funds to support cancer patients and their families across Ireland. You can show your support too, by making a donation to my page today.

This year I'm taking part in the Sligo event at ATU Sligo, Ash Lane, Ballytivnan, Co. Sligo. An amazing community event that will take place over 24 hours.

I’m fundraising for a great cause

Funds raised from this event will support vital support services for people living with cancer. These much needed funds will help the Irish Cancer Society continue to provide Night Nurses, Volunteer Drivers, a freephone Support line, counselling sessions, fund life changing research & much more.

Your help today, will help to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families, together we can ensure that no-one has to go through their cancer journey alone.

Training Update 🏃‍♀️

Thursday 23rd Jul
Today’s run was a steady 6.5 km in 50 minutes, completed in Zone 2 with an average pace of around 7:40/km. It was an easy, comfortable run. The weather was great, I felt strong throughout, and the effort stayed at a moderate level from start to finish. Sometimes the most important sessions aren’t the fastest ones, they’re the recovery runs that help build consistency and prepare you for the next challenge. Today’s run was exactly that: a solid regenerative session to keep the training on track.

Intervals training 🏃‍♀️

Thursday 16th Jul
Yesterday’s session was all about speed and pushing myself a little outside my comfort zone. The workout started with a 20-minute warm-up, followed by 5 rounds of 800 metres in Zone 5, with a 1-minute recovery between each interval. I finished with a 10-minute cool-down. In total, I covered almost 9 km in 1 hour. The warm-up and cool-down felt comfortable, but the Zone 5 intervals were definitely more challenging. It’s not a pace I run very often, so it pushed me to work a little harder. Even though each interval was relatively short, I managed to stay within the target zone and give each effort a good push. I’m really happy with how the session went. Every workout like this helps me build confidence, improve my fitness, and reminds me that progress comes from consistently stepping outside my comfort zone.

Friday 16km 🏃‍♀️💜

Sunday 12th Jul
Friday’s training was my longest run yet outside of an organised event - 16 km! The first 10 km felt comfortable and controlled. The final 6 km were definitely more challenging, mainly because it’s a distance my body is still getting used to. Even so, I kept going and finished feeling really proud of myself. Every run reminds me that my goal isn’t to be the fastest runner. My goal is to keep challenging myself, go a little further than I thought I could, and become a stronger version of myself with every kilometre. Another 16 km done, and I’m one step closer to Relay for Life. 💜

Today’s Training Update 🏃‍♀️💜

Wednesday 8th Jul

Today’s session was an interval run, and it was one of those runs that reminds me exactly why I love running.

The workout included:

  • 10-minute warm-up
  • 4 rounds of:

    • 5 minutes in Zone 2
    • 3 minutes in Zone 4
    • 2 minutes walking recovery
  • 10-minute cool-down

In total, I ran 7.97 km in 1 hour.

The weather was absolutely beautiful today, and everything just came together. The session felt strong, enjoyable, and I finished with that amazing feeling that running brings, the kind that leaves you smiling all the way home.
