This year I'm taking part in the Westmeath event at Tyrrellspass GAA Club, Mullingar Road, Tyrrellspass. An amazing community event that will take place over 24 hours.

I’m fundraising for a great cause

Funds raised from this event will support vital support services for people living with cancer. These much needed funds will help the Irish Cancer Society continue to provide Night Nurses, Volunteer Drivers, a freephone Support line, counselling sessions, fund life changing research & much more.

Your help today, will help to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families, together we can ensure that no-one has to go through their cancer journey alone.

Hello my name is Joanne, joint Secretary for Relay for Life Westmeath. Last year I was initially approached as part of the Tyrrellspass GAA team, as our club was the key location for the 24hr Relay event. 
Over the years, cancer has impacted many people around me,  family members in both mine and my husband’s family, and close friends both here in Ireland and overseas. 

Some of these people are survivors, some have passed as a result of their cancer journey and some are in the throes of it right now. Each one of these people has had a direct and profound impact on me and I will be forever grateful for them.  

I take part in this event to honour their journey, honour their memory and to stand side by side as they face their treatment head on.  Join us to help make a difference in this fight to find and secure cures for Cancer
