RELAY FOR LIFE 2025
Team Walkie Talkie is now in it’s 11th year as part of Kildare Relay For Life. Our numbers grow on an annual basis. While this is unfortunately due to more and more people being diagnosed and family members being touched by this awful disease, it however gains us more new friends and supporters.
Making money is one of the least important aspects surrounding Relay. It is about forging friendships and creating bonds that can never be broken, throughout life or death. It is a celebration of the lives of lost loved ones and a celebration of hope for those struggling with the physical and mental pain of diagnosis and treatment and the fear carried around in every survivorshead and heart on a daily basis.
We as a team have 12 team members, with 5 survivors.All from different walks of life and with different goals and personalities. We have all been touched by Cancer in some way and everyone follows their own journey. This could be for themselves or for a loved one, but whatever the reason, we unite in strength and love to raise awareness and support, to try find a way to get through our dark moments and celebrate the light. We promote hope for better days and finding a way to eradicate this soul-destroying disease. The beauty of Relay for our team is that the support is there for all. No matter how ill, weak young or old, strength and hope shine through from start to finish and we help each other in our struggles until we all find brighter days ahead. Everyone is welcome and no one gets left behind. We are a team and that is what will win the battle in the end. Team work from Team Walkie Talkie
